The management team at East Islip Lanes released a public memo yesterday regarding the pending purchase and closure of the bowling center confirming that, while the center won't be closing in the immediate future, the news reported yesterday was indeed accurate.
The memo went on to say that the center was indeed bought by Benchmark Senior Living, but the contract has not been finalized yet and while the center will ultimately be closing, it won't be "tomorrow, next week, next month or even next year," and that the deal may take several years to complete.
East Islip Lanes, founded in 1989 (according to allbiz.com), was the home to the first ever perfect 900 series in Long Island History and the 34th in bowling history, rolled by Joe Novara in 2017.
